I am in my 37th week of pregnancy, and let’s just say I am ready to wear my old jeans again! 😉 Don’t get me wrong, I have loved having a bump and feeling all the little kicks and wiggles, but I am ready to say goodbye to maternity clothes! I will say though, I have found a few key maternity pieces that have got me through my pregnancy. So if you’re running out of ways to style your bump, or needing staple pieces for your pregnancy, let me help a sister out.
Let’s start with bottoms.
I will be honest, I tried to wear my normal shorts/jeans for as long as possible, but I reached a point where enough was enough. I wanted to be comfortable! So I invested in a few maternity jeans and leggings to help make things more comfortable. After months of wearing them all, these are my absolute favorites!
These are the leggings I wear almost everyday. I got them from Target for $19 and they might be my favorite. They didn’t fit as well during the first few months of pregnancy, because my bump wasn’t too big, but as I grew they fit better and better. I sized down to an XS because I heard they ran a little big. I highly recommend sizing down too! Normally I wear a small. They are over the bump leggings, which are my favorite. I always prefer over the bump bands.

I was recently gifted these leggings by a company called Blanqi, and I will say, I love them. They are a bit pricey, but judging by the amount of times I have already worn them, they’re worth the investment! Especially if you are earlier on in your pregnancy. I didn’t get them until recently. I was gifted the Sport Support leggings, which can be worn before pregnancy, during, and after. I can’t vogue for post pregnancy yet, but they’ve been magical during pregnancy! I have heard amazing things about their Everyday Maternity leggings too, if you would rather those. You can’t wear afterwards, but honestly, they still might be worth it. I don’t know about you, but I am wearing leggings everyday! I will link both of them below for you. I have a small, so they fit true to size.

Ok my very favorite jeans have come from Pink Blush Maternity. I actually ending up grabbing three pairs from them, and I loved all three of them. They are trendy, cute, and made me feel like I was wearing somewhat “normal” jeans. They are always running sales and promotions too, so you won’t usually ever have to pay full price! Win win. My very favorites are sold out, so I am linking a few below that are super cute. I would recommend figuring out you “maternity jeans” size as well! I went into destination maternity and figured out what size I was. I normally wear 27 or 28’s, and I am a 26 in maternity jeans. Everyone is different, so figure yours out! When I say Pink Blush jeans run “true to size” I am meaning they run true to your pregnancy size! I grabbed 26’s in all of my jeans, and they fit great. The first jeans I linked are ones I own, and love them!

So I actually didn’t purchase too many maternity tops! I knew the bulk of my pregnancy would be during fall and winter (and your girl loves oversized sweaters), so I figured I could get away with non maternity tops. Low and behold, I have! I did purchase two maternity tank tops, to wear with cardigans, and I liked them! Personally, I’m just not a fan of tight tops. Especially when all three of my bumps 😉 started growing. You feel me? I will link the tank below just incase you are looking/needing a more form fitting tank to layer! I got a medium, and loved the fit.
Shop the tank:
My favorite layering top thus far has been this $15 long sleeve tee from Nordstrom. I have it in the cream and black stripes (wearing in the photo above), and wear it all the stinkin time. I got a size medium, and will wear it after baby too! It is still currently fitting, and I am 9 months preggo. I highlyyy recommend this top. It is always selling out/restocking, so if you don’t see your size, check back! Or I will try to remind you. I am adding the white one to my wish list! I love it because it works through pregnancy, and also afterwards.

Ok I have a hidden little secret for non maternity tops, the plus size section. In Belgium, all the signs are in dutch, so I had no clue I was looking at stuff in the plus size section. I just saw a white tee and thought “this looks long enough!!” and sure enough, it was! I grabbed this tee in white and also in black and white stripes. Unfortunately, the stripes is only in Belgium. I grabbed a large in the white, and extra large in stripes. I will say though, this top only fit until recently! My little belly is a bit too big now. But I did wear it religiously for a few months. If you’re less than 7 months pregnant (or a smaller bump), this should work for you! Keep in mind, I used this for layering. The sleeves/arm pit holes were a bit big, but I didn’t mind since I was wearing underneath sweaters and cardigans.

Oversized sweaters are my jam! One, because I just love them. Two, they work during pregnancy and after pregnancy. Yesssss. H&M is my spot for oversized sweaters. Their selection is amazing. This sweater has been my favorite during pregnancy, although the size and color options are getting limited. I got a large, and it still fits my bump! I would honestly get a large pre pregnancy too. Long enough to cover the bump and the booty, so it goes great with leggings! They’ve been restocking- so check back if they don’t have your size!

Here are a few other oversized sweaters that I LOVE, and also work during pregnancy.
I can’t NOT talk about comfy cozies in this post. Because let’s be honest, as soon as I get home I am in my sweats. 100% every time. I have found a couple pairs of sweatshirts that I love to lounge in, and work with the bump! I will link them below. Same with sweats, I love me some joggers! I will say though, I don’t necessarily leave the house in joggers right now. The whole “sits below the tummy” thing won’t fly out in public for me. Ha! It just looks too funny. But you best believe I am front sagging around the house. Linking my favorites below!
Shop my sweatshirt picks:
Yes that first one is a men’s sweatshirt, no shame. The second one comes in a few colors and I have a medium, it runs oversized! The last one I have in a medium, and it’s not super long, but still covers. I actually wish I did a large!
Shop my jogger picks:
The first ones STAY on my body. So stinking soft. They actually go with the last sweatshirt I linked above! I am constantly rocking the sweatsuit. I have a medium and wished I would’ve done my normal size, a small!
My biggest tip for styling your cute little bump is be yourself! Just because you got a big ole ball for a tummy doesn’t mean you can’t rock your favorite things. Sure you might have to size up a bit, or wear maternity jeans, but you can still do your thing! For me, the easiest way to look put together and comfy at the same time is leggings, an oversized sweater, booties, and some lipstick. My serious go to lately. Or you can wear leggings, striped tee, jean jacket, and a fun hat! Or leggings, longer tee, leather jacket, and a fun lip. Ripped jeans, heeled booties, tighter tank, and a fun cardigan.
My go to styling pieces lately have been a good pair of leggings, longer non maternity tee, oversized sweaters, and jean jackets. Jean jackets are great pieces to “spice up” your otherwise plain outfit. Or if you’re like me, and wear the same leggings and tee everyday, it creates the illusion you’re not always wearing the same outfit. HA! I also love accessories right now. Grab some fun scarves, beanies, or fun shoes! Play with the pieces that aren’t effected by your bump.
Rock the bump girlfriend!
