We’re having a baby!!
It still feels surreal to type that. We are so excited to finally share the news with everyone! I am the worst at keeping secrets, so it’s been tough to say the least. I am a little over 12 weeks, and our little babe is due December 22nd! Our Christmas will be a very special one this year!
Tate and I found out we were pregnant in April, and it was such a funny, sweet, memorable moment. The pregnancy test and instructions were all in Dutch, so were quickly trying to translate every little thing to make SURE we were indeed pregnant! The first thing Tate said after I screamed “we are pregnant!!” is “wait wait wait let me see let me translate”. Ha! We couldn’t believe it. We feel so incredibly honored to be bringing a little life into this world, and more than ready to start our family.
Around 6 weeks, we had our first doctor’s appointment in Belgium, which went great! (Minus the fact they don’t use “gowns” or anything to cover up with…..mhmm…). We were able to see the little baby, which looked more like a little squiggle, and the cutest little heartbeat. We weren’t able to hear the heartbeat then, but seeing the little miracle was enough for us. Our second doctor’s appointment was in the United States, and it was around 11.5 weeks, and it was amazing. Truly amazing. We were able to see our little babe again, except this time it looked like an actual baby! We saw the little legs, arms, five little fingers, and the cutest little nose! We were able to hear the heartbeat as well. It just takes your breath away. God is so good!
After much discussion, Tate and I are actually going to WAIT to find out the gender of our baby! Gasp now. Really not like me, or my personality, but I am going to go with it! Tate really really wanted to wait, so for baby #1, we are waiting! Or at least I promised to try 😉
I can’t wait to share this journey with you all! Tate and I literally have no idea what we are doing, but we are excited to do it!!
Baby Unruh we can’t wait to meet you!
Also, shout out to my sweet momma for taking these pictures! She did an amazing job, didn’t she?! 🙂
